Lotus Group, also known as Lotus Cars, is a British multinational automotive manufacturer known for its luxury sports cars and electric lifestyle vehicles. The company was founded by Colin Chapman and has undergone several ownership changes over the years. After Chapman's death, the company experienced financial instability and was subsequently bought by General Motors, Romano Artioli, and DRB-HICOM through its subsidiary Proton. Since 2017, Lotus has been majority owned by the Chinese multinational Geely.
